Content Hub – Terms of Use

Effective: [date of publication]

Draft for legal review. Every point marked “[Lawyer: …]” must be decided or checked before publication; remove all bracketed notes from the published text. [Lawyer: the Czech version is intended to be the governing version for Czech consumers; confirm, and state it in section 22.] [Owner: the app records accepted terms by their “Last updated” date (TERMS_VERSION in constants/app.ts, currently 2026-08-21, inherited from the kids app); set it to the publication date of these terms in the same release. Publish only with the release that contains VIP, rewarded ads and notifications, or remove those sections.]

1. Who we are

Content Hub is provided by Costa Hub s.r.o., Školská 660/3, Nové Město, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic, Company ID (IČO) 23882271, VAT ID (DIČ) CZ23882271, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, file 434492, represented by Christian Costa, executive director (“we”, “us”). Contact: info@costahub.co, +420 602 766 346.

2. Accepting these terms

These terms apply to everyone who uses the Content Hub app. By using the app, and in particular by creating an account or continuing on the sign-in screen, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

You must be at least 16 years old, or older where the law of your country sets a higher age for using a service like this or for agreeing to these terms without a parent’s consent. If you are under 18, you confirm that you may make purchases in the app with your own means or with the consent of your parent or guardian. [Lawyer: decide how purchases by 16- and 17-year-olds fit § 31 of the Civil Code (legal acts appropriate to the maturity of minors of that age), whether parental consent must be required for subscriptions, and whether sign-up needs an age confirmation, since the app does not ask for age.]

Where Apple or Google tells us that a user is under 16, or that a parent has withdrawn a consent that the law requires (as in some US states), we may limit or end that user’s access to the app.

3. The service

Content Hub streams short series in vertical format for personal, non-commercial viewing.

  • Content for 16+. Series are rated 12+, 15+ or 16+, in the genres romance, drama, thriller, comedy and mystery. Nothing rated above 16+ is published, and the app contains no sexually explicit content. Some series may contain mature themes appropriate to their rating. [Lawyer: check whether the service is an on-demand audiovisual media service under Act No. 132/2010 Coll., which would require notification to the Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting (RRTV) and bring duties on content labelling, protection of minors and European works.]
  • Free and paid episodes. The first episodes of each series (usually 5, shown on the series page) and trailers are free. One locked episode a day can be opened for free. Other episodes are unlocked with coins (section 5).
  • Release schedule. Some episodes are released at a set time shown in the Schedule. Until then they cannot be watched or bought. Release times may change.
  • Recaps and share clips. Some episodes have a short recap, offered when you come back to a series after a few days, and a short clip you can share (section 13).
  • Cast. Series pages show the actors, whom you can follow to be reminded of their new episodes.
  • Internet connection. Watching needs an internet connection; your operator may charge for mobile data.

4. Your account

You can watch free episodes without an account. To buy coins or VIP, keep a saved list, follow actors and get reminders, you need an account: an email address confirmed with a one-time code.

  • Use an email address you control, and keep access to it. Coins and purchases stay with the account they were made on.
  • One account is for one person. Keep your device and email secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You can delete the account at any time on the Account screen (section 19).

5. Coins

What coins are. Coins are a virtual currency used only to unlock episodes in Content Hub. The price of an episode in coins is shown in the app (currently 20 coins; half for VIP members). An unlocked episode stays unlocked for your account.

How you get coins.

  • Coin packs bought through the App Store or Google Play. The store shows the price in your currency before you confirm. Some packs include bonus coins, stated on the pack.
  • Free coins: a welcome bonus for a new account, daily rewards and milestones, rewarded ads (section 8) and VIP’s monthly coins (section 7). We may change or end free coin offers for the future; coins already credited stay.

Rules for coins.

  • Coins never expire.
  • Coins have no value outside the app. They cannot be exchanged for money, paid out, transferred to another account or sold.
  • The price shown is the price charged. If the price changes between the moment you see it and the moment you confirm (for example because VIP ended), nothing is charged and the app shows the new price for you to confirm again.
  • Coins are tied to your account. If you delete the account, all coins on it are lost and cannot be restored. [Lawyer: confirm that forfeiting paid, unspent coins on a voluntary deletion is acceptable under Czech consumer law when the user is warned beforehand, as the app does.]
  • If a store refunds a coin pack, the coins from that pack are removed from your balance (never below zero). Coins from VIP months and from ads are not taken back.

6. Unlocking a whole series

You can unlock all episodes of a series that are already released and still locked in one step, at a discount (currently 20%). Before you confirm, the app shows the exact cost and your balance. Episodes released later are not included and are unlocked separately.

7. VIP subscription

VIP is a subscription, monthly or yearly. While it is active:

  • every coin-priced episode costs half the coins (currently 10 instead of 20);
  • you receive coins at the start of every VIP month (currently 300), also on the yearly plan;
  • there are no ad breaks between episodes.

VIP does not unlock episodes by itself: each episode is still unlocked with coins. Coins you received stay yours when VIP ends.

Renewal and cancellation. The price is shown in the store before you confirm. VIP is charged to your App Store or Google Play account and renews automatically at the end of each period (every month or every year) at the price shown, until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to stop the next charge, in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings (“Manage subscription” in the app opens them). VIP then ends at the end of the paid period. Price changes are handled by the store, which tells you in advance as its rules require.

Refunds. If the store refunds VIP, VIP ends immediately. Coins already received for VIP months are not taken back.

Account deletion does not cancel VIP. Cancel it in the store first.

[Lawyer: confirm whether a free trial or introductory price will be offered (the app assumes none), and check these terms against Apple guideline 3.1.2 and Google Play’s subscription policy.]

8. Rewarded ads

If you are signed in and not VIP, the app may offer a short ad when the next episode is locked. Watching it to the end earns coins (currently 4 coins per ad, up to 10 paid ads a day). Ads are always optional: each starts after a countdown with a “Not now” button.

  • Coins are credited only after Google confirms that the ad was watched, usually within seconds. If no confirmation arrives, no coins are credited.
  • Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Before the first ad, Google’s consent form may ask for your choices; see the Privacy Policy.
  • We do not guarantee that an ad is always available.

9. Monthly spending limit

You can set the most coins you can buy in a calendar month (on the Store or Account screen). A lower limit applies at once; a higher limit, or removing it, applies 24 hours after you choose it. The month follows your account’s time zone. Coins from VIP, ads and rewards do not count.

The limit is enforced by the app before a purchase starts. The payment itself is taken by the store, so a purchase that has already gone through is always credited, even if it exceeds the limit. The limit helps you; it is not a guarantee.

10. Payments, refunds and your right of withdrawal

The store sells, we deliver. Coin packs and VIP are paid through the App Store or Google Play under the store’s terms. We deliver the coins or VIP to your account as soon as the store confirms the payment. [Lawyer: confirm who the seller is towards the consumer for each store and adjust this sentence.]

Refunds are decided and paid by the store that charged you: Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, Google Play through your order history. The app links to both under “Request a refund”.

Prices and taxes. Prices are shown in your local currency in the store and in the app before you pay. The store sets the local price and collects any taxes, such as VAT, GST or sales tax.

Right of withdrawal (EU consumers). As a consumer you may withdraw from a purchase of a coin pack within 14 days without giving a reason, as far as the coins have not been used. Request the refund from the store; we adjust the balance when the store tells us.

When coins are spent on an episode or a series, the supply of that digital content begins immediately. By unlocking you ask us to start supplying it at once and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for what you unlocked. VIP starts immediately after purchase, at your request.

[Lawyer: decide how the 14-day right of withdrawal applies to VIP and to spent coins, and how the express request and acknowledgement required by § 1837(l) of the Civil Code (Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU) are obtained when the store shows the checkout. Confirm that the promise “unused coins can be refunded within 14 days through the store” is acceptable when the store, not we, decides the refund.]

Consumers outside the EU. If you live outside the EU, the consumer laws of your country may give you further rights, for example a cooling-off period after a subscription renews or a refund for a faulty purchase. These terms do not take those rights away.

11. If something does not work

Unlocked episodes must play as described. If an episode does not play or a purchase did not arrive, tap “Restore purchases” in the Store, or email info@costahub.co. We will fix the problem or return the coins. Your statutory rights for defective digital content under the Civil Code are not affected. [Lawyer: check against §§ 2389a et seq. of the Civil Code.]

12. Notifications

If you ask for reminders, the app may send notifications when episodes you follow come out. News notifications are sent only if you switch them on. You can change both on the Notifications screen or in your phone’s settings at any time.

13. Sharing

You may share the clips and links the app offers through your phone’s share menu, for personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not edit the clips, present them as your own or use them in advertising.

14. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • copy, record, download outside the app, redistribute, publicly show or sell content from the app, except sharing as allowed in section 13;
  • get around technical protections, the spending limit or limits on ads and rewards, or try to obtain coins in an unfair way (for example with fake accounts, automated tools or manipulated ad views);
  • disrupt or overload the service, or access it with automated tools;
  • use the app for unlawful purposes, or let a person under 16 use your account.

15. Reporting content and complaints about content

Content Hub contains only content we publish; users cannot upload or post content. If you believe content in the app is illegal, infringes your rights (for example, copyright or your image), or is unsuitable for its age rating, email info@costahub.co with:

  • the series and episode (and the time in the episode, if relevant);
  • what the problem is and why;
  • your contact details, and if you report an infringement of your rights, information showing that you hold them.

We confirm receipt, review the report without undue delay, remove or restrict content where justified, and tell you the outcome. [Lawyer: check whether the Digital Services Act applies (no user content is hosted) and whether a single point of contact for authorities and users must be named.]

16. Intellectual property

All series, artwork, music, photos and branding in the app belong to Costa Hub s.r.o. or its licensors, including the actors’ rights in their performance and image. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to watch the content in the app for private, non-commercial purposes. Unlocking an episode gives you this right, not ownership.

17. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the app available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. The catalogue, release times and features may change, and some content may not be available in every country. If a change significantly limits episodes you have unlocked, we will offer a fair remedy, such as returning the coins.

If we shut down Content Hub, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and stop selling coins from that day, so that you can use your coins and, if you have VIP, cancel the renewal. Coins have no cash value, and unspent coins are not refunded when the service ends, except where the law of your country requires it. [Lawyer: confirm this wording, and the 30-day period, against EU/Czech, UK, Australian and US consumer law on prepaid digital content.]

18. Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, in particular section 14, after warning you where possible. If we close an account for a serious breach, coins obtained by the breach may be removed. You may object by emailing us, and we will review the decision. [Lawyer: confirm this clause. Owner: the admin has no suspension tool today; an account can only be removed by deleting the user in Clerk.]

19. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account on the Account screen. Deleting the account ends this agreement; coins on the account are lost (section 5), and a VIP subscription continues until you cancel it in the store (section 7).

20. Liability

We provide the app with reasonable care. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for damage caused by the store, your device or your internet connection. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for harm caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for harm to life or health, or your statutory rights as a consumer. [Lawyer: check against § 2898 of the Civil Code and consumer protection rules.]

21. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for good reasons, such as new features, changes in the law or in store rules. We will tell you in the app at least [Lawyer: 30] days before material changes take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using the app, cancel VIP and delete your account before the changes apply. Changes do not affect purchases already made.

22. Complaints, dispute resolution, governing law and language

Contact us first at info@costahub.co. We handle complaints without undue delay and at the latest within 30 days.

If you are a consumer, you may also turn to the body for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes: Česká obchodní inspekce (Czech Trade Inspection Authority), ADR department, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, adr.coi.cz. [Lawyer: verify the address and ADR details.]

These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer. [Lawyer: decide whether users in the United States should have an arbitration clause with a small-claims exception and an opt-out; it would block class actions but brings the cost risk of mass arbitration. The draft has none.]

These terms are published in Czech and English. [Lawyer: confirm that the Czech version prevails for Czech consumers and how the English version is treated for others.]

23. Apps from the App Store and Google Play

App Store (Apple). If you downloaded Content Hub from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) also applies and governs your licence to use the app. These terms add to it; where the two conflict about the licence, Apple’s agreement prevails. In addition:

  • These terms are between you and Costa Hub s.r.o., not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence to use the app cannot be transferred and is limited to Apple devices that you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s Usage Rules, including Family Sharing where it applies.
  • We alone are responsible for maintenance and support of the app (contact in section 1). Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support.
  • If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app; any other claims, losses or costs caused by a failure to conform are our responsibility as far as these terms and the law provide.
  • We, not Apple, handle any claims about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or that the US Government has designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • When using the app you must comply with applicable third-party terms, such as your mobile data agreement.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Google Play. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to the download and to payments. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app.

24. Where you may use the app

The app is offered in the countries where it is listed in the App Store or Google Play, and some content may not be available everywhere. You may not use the app from a country or region subject to comprehensive EU, UN or US sanctions, or if you are a person named on such a sanctions list. [Owner: exclude Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria (verify the current sanctions), mainland China and the occupied regions of Ukraine in both store consoles; decide about Brazil (see the compliance checklist).]
