Content Hub Kids – Terms of Use
Effective: [date of publication]
Draft for legal review. Every point marked “[Lawyer: …]” must be decided or checked before publication; remove all bracketed notes from the published text. [Lawyer: the Czech version is intended to be the governing version for Czech consumers; confirm, and state it in section 18.] [Owner: the app records which terms a parent accepted by their “Last updated” date (
TERMS_VERSIONinconstants/app.ts, currently 2026-08-21); set it to the publication date of these terms in the same release.]
1. Who we are
Content Hub Kids is provided by Costa Hub s.r.o., Školská 660/3, Nové Město, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic, Company ID (IČO) 23882271, VAT ID (DIČ) CZ23882271, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, file 434492, represented by Christian Costa, executive director (“we”, “us”). Contact: info@costahub.co, +420 602 766 346.
2. Who these terms are for
These terms are an agreement between us and the parent or legal guardian who uses the Grown-ups area or creates a parent account. By creating an account or continuing on the sign-in screen, you agree to these terms and confirm that you are an adult (of legal age where you live) and the child’s parent or guardian, or have their permission.
Children may watch in the app under the supervision of their parent or guardian, who is responsible for their use of the app.
[Lawyer: confirm the minimum age for the account holder (18, full legal capacity under § 30 of the Civil Code) and whether watching without an account by a child requires any acceptance of terms at all.]
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
3. The service
Content Hub Kids streams short animated series for children and families, for personal, non-commercial viewing.
- Original content made with AI tools. The series are original content produced for Content Hub Kids with the help of artificial intelligence production tools. Every episode is reviewed by a person before it is published. [Lawyer: check the labelling duty for AI-generated video under Art. 50 of the EU AI Act (applicable from 2 August 2026) and whether episodes or the store listing need a visible label.]
- Suitable for young children. Series are rated for children (TV-Y, TV-Y7 or TV-G). [Lawyer: check whether the service is an on-demand audiovisual media service under Act No. 132/2010 Coll., which would require notification to the Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting (RRTV) and bring duties on content labelling and protection of minors.]
- Free and paid episodes. Some episodes and trailers are free. Others are unlocked with coins (section 6). One locked episode a day can be opened for free.
- Grown-ups area. Settings, the parent account and all purchases are behind a parental gate. Children never see prices or buy buttons.
- Internet connection. Watching needs an internet connection. Mobile data charges from your operator may apply; you can stop videos loading on mobile data in the settings.
4. The parent account
You can watch free episodes without an account. To buy coins or the Family Club, and to keep coins on a new phone or after reinstalling, you need a parent account: an email address confirmed with a one-time code. Children do not create accounts.
- Use an email address you control, and keep access to it. Coins stay with the account they were bought on.
- You are responsible for purchases and settings made with your account, including on devices you give to your child.
- You can delete the account at any time in the Grown-ups area (section 13).
5. Parental controls
In the Grown-ups area you can:
- require a grown-up to approve every unlock;
- set how many episodes can be unlocked with coins per day;
- set a daily watch-time limit (playback stops for the rest of the day, free episodes included);
- set a grown-up PIN that is asked before these settings change.
Spending limits and, while you are signed in, the watch-time limit are kept with your account and apply on every phone signed in to it. A phone that is signed out uses its own watch-time setting.
The parental gate is a simple question meant to keep young children out; it is not a security lock. Until you set a PIN, anyone who knows the answer can change the settings. We recommend setting a PIN. These tools help you supervise; they do not replace your supervision.
6. Coins
What coins are. Coins are a virtual currency used only to unlock episodes in Content Hub Kids. The price of an episode in coins is shown in the app (currently 20 coins; 10 coins for Family Club members). An unlocked episode stays unlocked for the account.
How you get coins.
- Coin packs bought in the Grown-ups area through the App Store or Google Play. Each pack is a whole number of episodes. The store shows the price in your currency before you confirm, and the price per episode is shown next to every pack.
- Free coins: a welcome bonus when you create an account, daily rewards and watching milestones, and the Family Club’s monthly coins. We may change or end free coin offers for the future; coins already credited stay. [Lawyer: the daily rewards ladder resets after a missed day (a “streak”); check it against the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive, the EU key principles on in-game virtual currencies and the stores’ family policies (COINY-navrh.md flags streaks as a pressure pattern).]
Rules for coins.
- Coins never expire.
- Coins have no value outside the app. They cannot be exchanged for money, paid out, transferred to another account or sold.
- Coins are tied to the parent account. If you delete the account, all coins on it are lost and cannot be restored, also not with “Restore purchases”. [Lawyer: confirm that forfeiting paid, unspent coins on a voluntary deletion is acceptable under Czech consumer law when the user is warned beforehand, as the app does.]
- We do not change the coin price of an episode you have already unlocked.
- If a store refunds a coin pack, the coins from that pack are removed from the balance (never below zero).
7. Family Club
[Owner: keep this section only if the Family Club is released with this version.]
The Family Club is a monthly subscription a parent can buy in the Grown-ups area. While it is active:
- every episode costs fewer coins (currently 10 instead of 20);
- each paid month adds coins to the account (currently 300).
The Family Club is not unlimited watching: each episode is still unlocked with coins, and your parental controls still apply. If the membership ends, your coins stay and episodes return to the normal price.
Renewal and cancellation. The price is shown in the store before you confirm. The subscription is charged to your App Store or Google Play account and renews automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to stop the next charge. You can manage or cancel it in your store account at any time; cancelling ends the membership at the end of the paid period. Price changes are handled by the store, which tells you in advance as its rules require.
If a paid month is refunded, the coins credited for that month are removed from the balance as far as they have not been spent. [Lawyer/owner: the code removes the refunded month’s coins up to the current balance; confirm this wording.]
[Lawyer: confirm whether a free trial or introductory price will be offered; the app’s code does not credit coins during a free trial.]
8. Payments, refunds and your right of withdrawal
The store sells, we deliver. Coin packs and the Family Club are paid through the App Store or Google Play under the store’s terms. We deliver the coins or membership to your account as soon as the store confirms the payment. [Lawyer: confirm who the seller is towards the consumer for each store (Apple as commissionaire/agent, Google Play’s merchant of record) and adjust this sentence.]
Refunds. Refunds are decided and paid by the store that charged you: Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, Google Play through your order history. The app links to both under “Request a refund”.
Prices and taxes. Prices are shown in your local currency in the store and in the app before you pay. The store sets the local price and collects any taxes, such as VAT, GST or sales tax. If your family uses Apple’s Ask to Buy or Google Family Link, purchases may also need approval there.
Right of withdrawal (EU consumers). As a consumer you may withdraw from a purchase of a coin pack within 14 days without giving a reason, as far as the coins have not been used. Request the refund from the store; we adjust the balance when the store tells us.
When coins are spent on an episode, the supply of that digital content begins immediately. By unlocking an episode you ask us to start supplying it at once and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for that episode at that moment.
For the Family Club, the subscription starts immediately after purchase, at your request. [Lawyer: decide how the 14-day right of withdrawal applies to the Family Club and to coins that have been spent, and how the express request and acknowledgement required by § 1837(l) of the Civil Code (Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU) are obtained in the app’s purchase flow, given that the store shows the checkout. Confirm that the promise “unused coins can be refunded within 14 days through the store” is acceptable when the store, not we, decides the refund.]
Consumers outside the EU. If you live outside the EU, the consumer laws of your country may give you further rights, for example a cooling-off period after a subscription renews or a refund for a faulty purchase. These terms do not take those rights away.
9. If something does not work
Unlocked episodes must play as described. If an episode does not play or a purchase did not arrive, tap “Restore purchases” in the Grown-ups area, or email info@costahub.co. We will fix the problem or return the coins. Your statutory rights for defective digital content under the Civil Code are not affected. [Lawyer: check the wording against §§ 2389a et seq. of the Civil Code (digital content) and the remedies they require.]
10. Acceptable use
You may not:
- copy, record, download outside the app, redistribute, publicly show or sell content from the app;
- get around technical protections, limits or the parental gate by technical means;
- disrupt the service, overload it, or access it with automated tools;
- use the app for any unlawful purpose.
We may suspend an account that seriously breaks these rules, after warning you where possible. [Owner: the admin has no suspension tool today; an account can only be removed by deleting the user in Clerk.]
11. Intellectual property
All series, characters, artwork, music and branding in the app belong to Costa Hub s.r.o. or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to watch the content in the app for private, non-commercial purposes. Unlocking an episode gives you this right, not ownership of the content.
12. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the app available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. The catalogue and features may change, and some content may not be available in every country. If a change significantly limits episodes you have unlocked, we will offer a fair remedy, such as returning the coins.
If we shut down Content Hub Kids, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and stop selling coins from that day, so that you can use your coins and cancel the Family Club renewal. Coins have no cash value, and unspent coins are not refunded when the service ends, except where the law of your country requires it. [Lawyer: confirm this wording, and the 30-day period, against EU/Czech, UK, Australian and US consumer law on prepaid digital content.]
13. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account in the Grown-ups area. Deleting the account ends this agreement; coins on the account are lost (section 6). A running Family Club subscription is not cancelled by deleting the account: cancel it in your store account. [Lawyer/owner: confirm this; the app does not cancel store subscriptions.]
We may end the agreement for an account that seriously breaks these terms, or if we discontinue the service (section 12).
14. Liability
We provide the app with reasonable care. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for damage caused by the store, your device or your internet connection. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for harm caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for harm to life or health, or your statutory rights as a consumer. [Lawyer: check against § 2898 of the Civil Code and consumer protection rules.]
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for good reasons, such as new features, changes in the law or in store rules. We will tell you in the app at least [Lawyer: 30] days before material changes take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using the app and delete your account before the changes apply. Changes do not affect purchases already made.
16. Complaints and dispute resolution
Contact us first at info@costahub.co. We handle complaints without undue delay and at the latest within 30 days.
If you are a consumer, you may also turn to the body for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes: Česká obchodní inspekce (Czech Trade Inspection Authority), ADR department, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, adr.coi.cz. [Lawyer: verify the address and ADR details.]
17. Reporting content
If you believe content in the app is illegal or unsuitable for children, email info@costahub.co with a description of the content and why. We review every report, take action where justified and tell you the outcome. [Lawyer: check whether the Digital Services Act applies (the app hosts no user content) and whether a single point of contact must be named.]
18. Governing law and language
These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer. [Lawyer: decide whether users in the United States should have an arbitration clause with a small-claims exception and an opt-out; it would block class actions but brings the cost risk of mass arbitration. The draft has none.]
These terms are published in Czech and English. [Lawyer: confirm that the Czech version prevails for Czech consumers and how the English version is treated for others.]
19. Apps from the App Store and Google Play
App Store (Apple). If you downloaded Content Hub Kids from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) also applies and governs your licence to use the app. These terms add to it; where the two conflict about the licence, Apple’s agreement prevails. In addition:
- These terms are between you and Costa Hub s.r.o., not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence to use the app cannot be transferred and is limited to Apple devices that you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s Usage Rules, including Family Sharing where it applies.
- We alone are responsible for maintenance and support of the app (contact in section 1). Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support.
- If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app; any other claims, losses or costs caused by a failure to conform are our responsibility as far as these terms and the law provide.
- We, not Apple, handle any claims about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or that the US Government has designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- When using the app you must comply with applicable third-party terms, such as your mobile data agreement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Google Play. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to the download and to payments. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app.
20. Where you may use the app
The app is offered in the countries where it is listed in the App Store or Google Play, and some content may not be available everywhere. You may not use the app from a country or region subject to comprehensive EU, UN or US sanctions, or if you are a person named on such a sanctions list. [Owner: exclude Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria (verify the current sanctions), mainland China and the occupied regions of Ukraine in both store consoles; decide about Brazil (see the compliance checklist).]
